Bali Teak Furniture is an independent Indonesian teak furniture sourcing desk. We connect importers, wholesalers, interior designers and hospitality projects with vetted workshops in Jepara (Central Java) and Bali — the two centres of Indonesia’s teak furniture craft. We are not a single factory pushing one catalogue; we are a sourcing and quality-control desk that quotes, samples, inspects and ships on behalf of overseas buyers.
Why we exist
Buying teak furniture from Indonesia at a distance is hard. Quality varies enormously between workshops, “teak” is sometimes not solid teak, moisture content is often wrong for export markets, and FOB quotes can hide real costs. We built this desk to give buyers honest, decoded information — teak grades, kiln-dried moisture content, MOQ and container maths, export documentation — and a single point of contact who manages the order from brief to bill of lading.
What we do
We cover four ranges: indoor teak furniture (dining, living, bedroom), outdoor and garden teak, reclaimed teak furniture, and custom or OEM / private-label production. For each enquiry we send a catalogue and an indicative FOB quote, arrange samples, agree a master sample, then coordinate production, multi-stage quality control, and export packing and documents. We work in solid Grade A kiln-dried teak (typically 8–12% moisture content) as standard, with Grade B and reclaimed options where they suit the project and budget.
Our honest position on legality and sustainability
We work with workshops that supply legal, documented timber. Indonesia operates the SVLK timber-legality system (Sistem Verifikasi Legalitas Kayu), and legal teak typically ships with V-Legal / FLEGT documentation; FSC-certified teak is available on request and at a premium. We will not overstate certification we do not hold, and we flag plantation versus reclaimed teak honestly so you know what you are buying.
The people behind the desk
Our editorial and sourcing content is maintained by three people:
- Bagus Hartono — sourcing lead, based between Jepara and Semarang. Bagus has spent his career around Central Java’s teak workshops and writes our grading, joinery and production guides.
- Lestari Anggraini — export and documentation editor. Lestari covers FCL container loading, HS classification, V-Legal / SVLK paperwork and the logistics of shipping to the USA, Europe and Australia.
- Surya Nugroho — quality and finishing editor, based in Bali. Surya writes our material, finishing and outdoor-weathering guides and oversees our quality-control checklists.
